Following World War II, the U.S. Government began investing hundreds of millions of dollars to determine the best methods of treating drinking water. Still today, the most viable method of fully treating our drinking water in an economical way is through reverse osmosis.

How Reverse Osmosis (RO) works:
The RO process utilizes a semi-permeable membrane that has the ability to remove and reject a wide spectrum of impurities from water using only water pressure. These impurities affect the taste and/or quality of your drinking water.

How safe is water direct from my tap?
Water doesn't have to taste or smell bad to contain harmful toxic chemicals. Water treatment facilities are geared for the prevention of waterborne diseases. In addition, the chlorine added to water by these treatment plants can react with organic matter present to form toxic, carcinogenic organic compounds known as Trihalomethanes (THM's). A recent Environmental Protection Agency Survey identified over 700 potentially hazardous chemicals in the U.S water supplies. The contaminants or other substances removed or reduced by this water treatment device are not necessarily in your water.

Technical Features of the Reverse Osmosis System

1. 5-Micron Sediment Filter removes dirt, rust and sand particles.

Automatic shut-off valve--When the storage tank has reached capacity, the automatic shut-off value stops the flow of water entering the system, thereby conserving water. As water is drained from the storage tank, the flow is allowed to resume through the system. This cycling procedure works automatically by the water pressure.

Chlorine in Your Shower:

a) LIQUID: Since chlorination is a long established public health practice necessary for the disinfection of drinking water, people are aware of the health benefit drinking purified water can provide. However, it's surprising for some people to learn that 50% of their daily exposure is in the shower. The other 50% comes from their drinking water. Therefore, filtering shower water is equally as important, as filtering drinking water.

FYI: We suggest drinking a glass of purified water about 10 minutes BEFORE taking a shower or bath. This hydrates the body, thus minimizing the absorption of shower water through the skin. Even if it IS filtered, it still isn't PURIFIED . . . the ONLY water you should consume . . .

b) VAPOR: Documented scientific studies conclude that taking hot showers is a health risk not only due to absorption through the skin, but in the enclosed shower stall chlorine vaporizes, where it is inhaled. The highly reactive chlorine combines with fatty acids and carbon fragments to form a variety of toxic compounds. Medical studies suggest a link between absorption and inhalation of chlorine in the shower environment, with elevated risks for diseases and serious illnesses. Showering in chlorinated water can also cause pre-existing conditions such as asthma and eczema to become exacerbated.

In addition to health benefits of filtering water, there are cosmetic benefits. Symptoms of chlorine exposure are dry and/or flaking skin, dry brittle hair and red irritated eyes. Filtering the shower water reduces these symptoms. Skin and hair feel softer and eyes become less red and irritated.

Filtration Technology:
